Shane Strange

Awake since midnight,

he had already reported in:

eggs, orange juice,

a decaffeinated coffee substitute,

a cantilever,

a butterfly.
Unable to bear his own weight,

he relied on pneumatics to stay upright,

overpowering desire,

five degrees off vertical,

looking sideways at the lane,

cold air blowing,

where his legs were joined.
